Stage 1 - Reference Photos

With the aid of several high quality photographs it is possible to supply an original painting or pencil drawing to your own requirements. This could be your car, home, or favourite view.

Above is shown a small collection of photographs, used to "get to know" the subject and the desired background, and to form a technical reference for the final artwork.

Stage 2 - Preliminary Sketch

This stage is not always necessary, depending on the style of artwork to be produced. Where necessary a very rough and quick preliminary sketch is produced in either pencil or ink to establish correct proportions and perspective, and relationship with the background.

Stage 3 - Final Artwork

All artwork is produced using artist quality materials and products, namely 'Daler Rowney', 'Faber-Castell', and 'Winsor & Newton'.

Prices quoted include supply in a choice of frame and mount styles, sealed for protection against ingress, and ready to hang. Pencil artwork is generally supplied with non-reflective glass, and paintings with standard picture glass. All framing is undertaken by a local professional framer, using high quality materials.

Above is shown the completed 19.5" x 17" (frame size) pencil illustration of a Bentley 3/8 Litre, shown on a banked corner in the style of the Brooklands racing circuit.

Alternatively any artwork can be provided plain, for completion by your own local picture framer. It should be noted that all pictures should be professionally framed as soon as possible to ensure that the artwork is correctly protected.

Although I can work from good quality photographs supplied by the client, I much prefer to work from my own where possible. Where the distance travelled to take the photographs of the subject is in excess of 100 miles round trip, it is necessary to make an additional charge to cover these costs.

Where travel is not excessive I try to hand deliver all finished work. Again where distance is excessive, it is necessary to make an additional charge for the travel/postage costs.

If you would like to commission an original piece of artwork, or alternatively purchase one that is currently for sale, please contact me by e-mail stating your requirements. I will get back to you as soon as possible with a firm quote including any of the additional charges. Upon acceptance of the quote I will then make all the necessary arrangements with you for photography and delivery.
